Wake Research is a nationally recognized clinical research company headquartered in Raleigh NC. They currently have 16 locations across the U.S. in major cities such as San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Raleigh, and Fayetteville.

When I began my career with Wake Research the company was in the process of wanting to upgrade its corporate image, create a better user experience online, boost its social media presence, and improve overall branding for the entire organization.

One of the big challenges Wake Research was facing during this rebrand was the fact it had two parts to its business. A B2B side that was focused on nurturing and building relationships with Pharmaceutical companies, doctor offices, and other research sites as well as a clinical side that was solely B2C facing.

To combat this major difference we decided to create a B2B facing web presence as well as a B2C one. So we built a B2B facing website and a B2C website. This would ensure business prospects would not have to look through a website that was not relevant to them and so that patients could easily find the clinical information they needed.

My Contributions

To start this project I worked directly with our Director of Marketing to consult with them on Web Design and Graphic elements. Shortly after this project began I became the team lead on web design, branding, and user experience for the entire organization. I helped create the website layout and worked directly with our in-house graphic designer to boost the overall look and feel of both the B2B and B2C websites.

To keep a consistent brand image across all of our online channels as well as any stationary or property within the company I helped develop a corporate style guide. This covered everything from logos, business cards, email signatures, fonts, colors, all the way down to what our company envelopes looked like.
